CHAPTER 3:
It had been a long day and Ziva had heard about as much geek speak as she could take in one day she had just stared at McGee blankly for over and hour while
he and this blonde woman talked about thingymabobs and ojimaflips as Ziva called them. The whole time McGee had occasionally looked at her and smiled
or slightly touched her hand and it made her smile, she had not realised how sweet and kind-hearted he could be, Abby was so lucky to have someone so loyal
even if she did not appreciate it sometimes and just used him to her advantage or when she needed comfort.
The room was getting smaller every time she entered back into it and she headed straight for the shower as they walked through the door.
"I'm goin for a shower McGee, i am going to wash off all this geek" Ziva said shuddering and hating the feel of the suit on her skin.
"Okay, ill be in here as usual going over the case" McGee said sounding down and sighing as he sat on the bed
Ziva was in the bathroom and had turned the shower on whilst listening to him talk and then letting out a sigh, she undressed and wrapped a towel around
herself and walked back into the room.
"What's wrong McGee?" Ziva asked standing between him and the bathroom
"Abby is mad at me and you would rather be with Tony than here with me" He said, his eyes were dull and lifeless
"She is not mad at you, she just was a little shocked you picked me, why did you pick me?" Ziva asked moving to the end of her bed and sitting down
"I had gone over the case file the night before which is why i brought it to Gibbs' attention, i knew she had ties to Mossad and knew you would know about it
more than Abby would" McGee said looking at her and giving a slight smile
"That was the best thing to do, why didn't you tell Abby that?" Ziva asked moving to sit next to him
"She would not understand she would just get mad at me and also that i blew off our date for tonight, she will be even more mad" McGee said he looked
about ready to cry
Ziva could tell what was going to happen next, she quickly put her hand on top of his and rubbed her thumb over it for a while until she heard him finally
let out the breath he was holding in. She waited for him to lift his head up to look at her and when he did she leaned in and gave in a hug, she knew he needed
it and right now she was the only one able to do it.
Abby walked into MTAC and made her way down towards the screen where she could see McGee and Ziva hugging.
"You can't keep your hands off each other!" Abby screamed making the guys in MTAC jump and quickly began to work "Just you wait" she threatened.
